Using the Applied Biosystems™ TaqMan™ Assay and Arrays Search Tool

  • Go to https://www.fishersci.com/
  • Select Tools from the horizontal menu bar.
  • Under Assay Tools, select Applied Biosystems™ TaqMan™ Assay and Arrays Search Tool.

1. Start Your Search
   1. Search using one of the following: gene symbol (e.g., GAPDH), gene name, assay ID, or accession number.
   2. Click Search to display available assays.
2. Review Search Results
   1. For each assay you'll typically see: assay ID, gene name, species, available formats, and price.
   2. If multiple assays appear, filter the results or compare them before selecting.
3. Review Assay Details
   1. Select an assay through the Assay ID or through the Details buttons to view additional information relevant to the selected assay (ex. transcript view for gene expression assays).
4. Choose Your Configuration
   1. Depending on availability, choose the format that best fits your workflow.
   2. Select the desired quantity or configuration.
5. Customize (if available)
   1. Some products allow you to add or remove assays, rearrange plate layouts, select plate format, or configure replicate placement.
   2. The configurator automatically updates your selections.
6. Review Your Order
   1. Before checkout, confirm correct species, gene target, desired assay format, plate layout (if applicable), and quantity.
7. Add to Cart
   1. Click Add to Cart.
   2. Continue shopping or proceed to checkout.
   3. Complete your purchase.

• Double-check gene symbols before ordering. Assay IDs and gene symbols will be displayed in your cart.
• To order an assay, you need both the part number and the assay ID.
• Confirm the assay targets the transcript(s) you intend to study.
• Review assay details if working with splice variants or multiple isoforms.
• For custom targets not covered by predesigned assays, consider the Custom TaqMan™ Assay Design tools.

I found multiple assays for one gene. Which should I choose?
Review the assay details and alignment map to determine which assay best matches your experimental design.

Can I customize plate layouts?
Yes. Flexible formats allow you to configure assay combinations and layouts for many applications.

Use the Custom TaqMan™ Assay Design option to design an assay for your target sequence.
