(±)-Naringenin is an orally available anti-inflammatory agent that regulates acute and chronic inflammation, and exhibits antioxidant, neuroprotective, liver-protective, and anti-cancer effects. It promotes vasodilation and protects against experimental colitis by inhibiting Toll-like receptor 4/NF-κB signaling, useful in studies of sepsis, fulminant hepatitis, fibrosis, and cancer. It appears as an off-white to light yellow solid.
