Biopsy Pads are made from open-celled foam, which allows fluids to transfer safely and thoroughly around tissue while holding the specimen securely. To prevent floating and avoid artifacts, Biopsy Pads should be presaturated in fixative. The thin design helps eliminate excess pressure from being applied to unfixed specimens, reducing the risk of tissue sticking to the pads or fibers coming apart during embedding. Available in white or blue foam, circular or rectangular. The thinner pads also allow for less fluid carry-over during processing.

Blue Ribbon is a universal paraffin containing synthetic polymers that can be used both as an infiltration and embedding medium. The paraffin enables the impregnation of tissue to occur rapidly and completely. The wax however will remain stable even at elevated temperatures. It is available in a case of 10 x 2 lb (0.91 kg) lightweight bags to facilitate handling. The bluish tint promotes better visibility of smaller or milky-colored/opaque specimens popular with Dermatology and Urology Labs.

The digital paraffin wax trimmer XH-90D model from Premiere is an efficient appliance for removing excess paraffin from embedding tissue cassettes. The digital temperature controls allows for the user to set the temperature of the heating plate from room temperature up to 120°C in one degree increments. You can trim multiple cassettes simultaneously on the grooved heating surface. Compact tabletop design of the digital paraffin trimmer fits easily in any lab. The melted paraffin is easily melted away and drains into the removable tray below. Collection tray stays in place by magnetic contact with unit. Newcomer Supply’s Tissue Embedding Tampers are unique tools for flattening tissue sections in an embedding mold with ease! The design allows for the end-user to either use a forceps or their fingers to easily control the tampers. The aluminum, one piece handle extends 24mm above the tamper base and comes with a vinyl cap to help remain cool to the touch. There is also an anodized colored surface on the tamper that makes it more durable and corrosion-resistant. The tampers comes in two different sizes to accommodate small, medium and large embedding molds: 10mm x 10mm base (orange) and 16mm x19mm base (green). A combo pack is also available including 1 of each size.
