Chemotaxis, a type of cell migration, is a highly integrated, multistep process that orchestrates embryonic morphogenesis, tissue repair and regeneration. The initial response of a cell to a migration-promoting agent is to polarize and extend protrusions in the direction of the attractant; these protrusions can consist of large, broad lamellipodia or spike-like filopodia that are driven by actin polymerization and can be stabilized by extracellular matrix (ECM) adhesion or cell-cell interactions. The CytoSelect™ Cell Migration Assay Kit utilizes polycarbonate membrane inserts (8 µm pore size) to assay the migratory properties of cells. The kit contains twelve 3 um polycarbonate membrane inserts in a 24-well plate, through which migratory cells are able to pass. Cells are quantified using the provided fluorometric dye. The 3 µm pore size is optimal for measuring the migration of leukocytes.

Cell invasion is the ability of malignant tumor cells to invade normal surrounding tissue, which contributes in large part to the significant morbidity and mortality of cancers. The CytoSelect™ Cell Invasion Assay Kit utilizes polycarbonate membrane inserts (8 µm pore size) to assay the invasive properties of cells. The kit contains twelve 8 um polycarbonate membrane inserts coated with a Collagen gel layer in a 24-well plate. Cells must degrade the Collagen layer and then move through the pores of the membrane. Invasive cells are then quantified using the provided Cell Stain Solution.
Cell Biolabs Inc Alcohol Assay Kit (Colorimetric), 100 assays
Cell Biolabs' Alcohol Assay Kit measures primary alcohols by an enzymatic oxidation reaction, producing hydrogen peroxide which reacts with the kit's probe. Alcohol concentrations are quantified by a standard 96-well colorimetric plate reader. Each kit provides sufficient reagents for 100 assays including standards and unknown samples.
