Hesperetin is a natural flavanone found in citrus, acting as a potent and orally active broad-spectrum inhibitor against human UGT activity. It induces apoptosis via p38 MAPK activation and demonstrates a range of bioactivities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. Hesperetin can also induce cell-cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, reduce Bcl-2, enhance BaxM, and induce apoptosis by inhibiting the NF-κB receptor.
