Intact Genomics GV3101 Agrobacterium Chemically Competent Cells are optimized for the highest transformation efficiencies which is ideal for applications requiring high transformation efficiencies, such as with cDNA or gDNA library construction. The GV3101 strain has a C58 chromosomal background with rifampicin resistance and the Ti plasmid pMP90 (pTiC58DT-DNA) with gentamicin resistance. The GV3101 Ti plasmid has the T-DNA region sequences deleted and transformation with a binary vector containing the missing T-region results in a functional T-DNA binary system that allows for transfer of genetic material into a host plant’s genome. Fluoro-Hance increases sensitivity of gel images on x-ray film up to 10 times. High resolution images are produced from polyacrylamide or agarose gels containing low level beta emitters such as 14C, 3H, and 35S. Fluoro-Hance contains a high efficiency scintillator system that produces a large number of photons when exposed to beta isotopes. This technique allows detection of weak beta emitters such as 14C, 35S and 3H.
Fluoro-Hance is an aqueous formula and does not contain acetic acid, DMSO, or hydrocarbon solvents which are potential hazards and can also cause distortion of the gel bands.
Fluoro-Hance is packaged in a light resistant amber bottle and has a long shelf life when stored in the dark at room temperature. Supplied with instructions and technical data.

GelRed is a sensitive stable and environmentally safe fluorescent nucleic acid dye designed to replace the highly toxic ethidium bromide (EtBr) for staining dsDNA ssDNA or RNA in agarose gels or polyacrylamide gels. GelRed and EtBr have virtually the same spectra (figure 1) so you can directly replace EtBr with GelRed without changing your existing imaging system. In addition GelRed is far more sensitive than EtBr (figure 2).The dye is noncytotoxic and non-mutagenic at concentrations well above the working concentrations used in gel staining. RuBPS is a negatively-charged water-soluble luminescent ruthenium complex that can be efficiently excited by either UV or visible light in the wavelength range from 400-500 nm, with bright red emission centered around 605 nm. Ruthenium complexes such as RuBPS typically have luminescence lifetimes in the micro-second range and a Stokes shift over 100 nm. By using time-resolved luminescence measurement, the combination of long luminescent lifetime and large Stokes shift offers the possibility for extremely sensitive detection that could approach the sensitivity of radioactive detection.
