KD (Kraff-Albert) mouse/rat eye speculum is used in ophthalmic procedures on rodents, particularly mice and rats. These specula are designed to hold the eyelids open during ocular examinations or surgical procedures. The KD speculum is small and delicate, specifically designed to fit the anatomy of a mouse or rat eye. It's crucial to have a size that fits the small dimensions of the eye while comfortably holding the eyelids open. The speculum is crafted to be gentle on the delicate tissues of the eye. It is made of a lightweight surgical grade stainless steel. It has a spring-loaded mechanism that allows for easy insertion and proper retention of the eyelids in an open position, maintaining the necessary exposure for the eye examination or procedure.
