Microscope Accessories and Replacement Parts
General accessories and parts for use with microscopes. Products include lens oil, lens cleaner, slide dispensers, microscope covers, vessel holders, light cubes, and flow cells.
Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.
Temporary, semi-permanent, and more long-term slide storage options include:
- Slide racks that securely hold slides during staining procedures
- Folding fiberboard or plastic slide holders with horizontal indentations that keep microscope slides in place
- Slide storage boxes with vertical dividers; made from fiberboard, plastic, and wood and available in multiple sizes
- Slide holders and mailers for transporting slides safely
- Slide storage systems and cabinets for large quantities of slides or archival storage
Electron Microscopy Sciences Walton & Beckett Graticule G24, 21 mm, 5:1 ratio
The Walton and Beckett graticule is for counting fibrous dust (asbestos or glass fibers) and particularly where the majority of fibers to be counted are shorter than 5 microns. The circle is divided into four by two diametrical lines scaled in units of 5 and 3 microns respectively. 3 and 5 microns are the critical measurements of fiber lengths and diameters used in fiber counting. Walton and Beckett include shapes with an aspect ratio of 3:1 or 5:1 for comparing to fibers.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The circle on these Walton & Beckett graticules must represent 100 microns at the stage and each one must be manufactured to the individual instrument. 5:1 ratio is useful where the majority of fibers to be counted are shorter than 5 um.

Electron Microscopy Sciences TEM Screen Recoating RCA Viewing
For optimum viewing, fluorescent screens should be recoated regularly. Viewing screens are easily damaged by the electron beam, especially at high accelerating voltages where knock-on damage can be severe. A proprietary process where 1 to 2 micron particles of phosphor are deposited on the screen and produce the highest possible resolution.
Electron Microscopy Sciences Gilder Double Oyster Grid 100/100, Copper
Double grids are used mostly in metallurgical applications for supporting thin metal foils. These grids have a curved securing tab which folds to the curvature of the 'sandwiched' grid. 3.05 mm diameter, 0.7 mil (18um) thickness.

Electron Microscopy Sciences HSE Test Slide S84
This test slide for calibration in asbestos analysis is made in the UK and is under license from the National Physical Laboratory. It is an epoxy replica of a master slide produced and certified by that laboratory. The replicas are mounted on microscope slides of 1.2 mm thickness with cover glass of 0.17 mm thickness. This information is transferred to the accompanying table, which indicates the maximum phase change passing through test objects to test slide. A satisfactory system will detect block 5. Electron Microscopy Sciences BEEM Capsule Holder Multi Task
The Multi-Task BEEM Capsule Holder is designed to hold size "00" BEEM capsule during resin polymerization. Use when embedding and polymerizing resin by microwave under water. The direct contact of the microwave energy to the resin causes the resin to heat to quick and leads to micro bubbles inside the resin block and possible damage to the tissues. This is eliminated by immersing the resin capsule in a water bath during microwaving. This ʽindirect contact' of microwave energy to the resin will help the embedding block polymerize nicely and homogeneously and avoids the overheating of the tissue.
Mold is machined from polyethylene block, comes in two parts: bottom part which holds the BEEM capsule, and the second part which is placed on top and is securd by two plastic screws to ensure the BEEM capsules are in place and capsule lid will not pop out during under water polymerization or microwave irradiation.
Electron Microscopy Sciences Crystallography MicroTool Kit 1, 20 Tools
These patent-pending MicroTools have tips used for protein crystals, single cells and manipulating small samples are made from soft, flexible microfabricated polymer films. The curvature of the tips gives them rigidity, but they can still easily be flexed. Tools designed for use with samples from a few micrometers to millimeter in size. These tools will cause far less damage to fragile samples than metal tools, and they are optically and x-ray transparent. Each tool is mounted on a 0.025"/0.64 mm diameter non-magnetic stainless steel base. The base is fitted in a handle 0.7 mm diameter, included in each kit. 20 micro tools for sample manipulating and measurements. Small, medium and large MicroSpoon, microchisel, MicroLasso, and MicroSieve, and MicroGripper, MicroRuler and two MicroSaws.
Electron Microscopy Sciences TEM-Specimen SB50 Grid Box
TEM grid storage box for routine handling and long term storage of 50 standard size TEM grids. Ergonomic design incorporates several features that overcome the disadvantages associated with storage boxes of the more conventional ʽsliding cover' design. Unique number on the face and on one end.
Blue arrow at the 12 o'clock position indicates the park position for the cover when not in use. This is a firm grip "click" position and cannot be moved accidentally, preventing spillage. Clear cover can be rotated smoothly through 360 deg once the slight initial resistance of the park position has been overcome exposing a maximum of 2 or 3 diamond shaped slots at any one time. The 50 diamond shaped slots have an alphanumeric referencing system.
