Hartman Mosquito Forceps, also called Hartmann mosquito hemostatic forceps, are surgical instruments designed for clamping blood vessels or other small tissues to control bleeding during surgery or to provide a secure grip. They are so named because they resemble the slender legs of a mosquito. Life science researchers like these fine hemostats because of the secure grip and the ability to manipulate them in confined spaces. Hartman Mosquito Forceps have a larger tip and deeper serrations than Halsted Mosquito Forceps. They are designed for clamping larger blood vessels.

WPI’s Swiss High Temperature Coating (HTC) Thumb Tweezers have undergone a specialized coating process to withstand elevated temperatures up to 620ºC (1150ºF). The HTC coating can withstand exposure to elevated temperatures without compromising their structural integrity or performance. This is particularly useful in applications where the tweezers may be used in high-temperature environments, such as soldering or other industrial processes. The HTC coating provides enhanced corrosion resistance, protecting the tweezers from damage caused by exposure to heat and potentially corrosive substances. The coating also contributes to the overall durability of the tweezers, ensuring they maintain their functionality and appearance over time, even when subjected to high-temperature conditions. You get increased wear resistance, extending the lifespan of the tweezers and reducing the frequency of replacements. These tweezers are 11 cm ( 4.75”) long.

Foerster Forceps, also known as Foerster sponge forceps or Foerster-Ballenger forceps, are a surgical instrument commonly used in medical procedures like gynecology and obstetrics. These forceps are named after the German surgeon Heinrich Foerster. The primary purpose of Foerster forceps is to grasp and hold surgical sponges or other materials. The serrated jaws help prevent slippage and ensure a firm grip. The easily recognizable, hexagon-shaped handles aids in distinguishing and handling this instrument, differentiating it from other surgical forceps. This handle also provides a secure grip, especially when you are wearing gloves or your hands are slippery. The hexagonal handle prevents the forceps from rolling when you set them down on a flat surface. Choose either a curved or a straight, serrated tip. These forceps are made of surgical grade stainless steel, which is suitable for autoclaving or chemical sterilization.

Bishop Harmon Iris Forceps are a pair of surgical forceps (tweezers) often used in ophthalmic procedures. They are designed specifically for use in the anterior portion of the eye to reach structures like the iris. Iris forceps are a small pair of forceps (9cm long) with a fine tip for grasping delicate tissue with minimal trauma. You can choose between serrated tips and tips with a 1x2 tooth configuration. The narrow, serrated jaws of the surgical forceps allow for fine manipulation of structures like the iris of the eye. The 1x2 teeth give a secure grip of delicate structures with minimal trauma. Researchers like these fine tipped tweezers for precision work in microdissection. These forceps are have straight tips. The Iris Forceps are manufactured with surgical grade stainless steel, premium German steel, or titanium, all of which are autoclavable. WPI recommends properly cleaning all your surgical instruments promptly after use.

Halsted (or Halstead) Mosquito Forceps, also called mosquito hemostatic forceps or simply hemostats, are surgical instruments designed for clamping blood vessels or other small tissues to control bleeding during surgery or to provide a secure grip. They are so named because they resemble the slender legs of a mosquito. Life science researchers like these fine hemostats because of the secure grip and the ability to manipulate them in confined spaces. Mosquito Forceps have long, thin, and straight or curved jaws that taper to a fine tip. The jaws are serrated for a firm grasp with minimal tissue trauma. The handles of mosquito forceps have a ratchet lock to secure your grasp once it is engaged.

Heavy Liston Bone Cutting Forceps, or simply Liston Forceps, are a surgical instrument for cutting or dividing bones during surgical procedures. Life science researchers might use these robust cutting forceps for gross dissection or tissue dissection, or in plant research to trim stems and roots. Liston Forceps have a heavy construction with long handles and sharp, curved blades at the working end. The blades have a concave cutting edge to focus the cutting force and ensures a precise bone cut. These range from 14 cm (5.5") to 25 cm (10") long with double spring handles and straight, curved tips.

WPI's Swiss High Precision Tweezers are designed for tasks that require a high level of accuracy, delicacy, and control. These tweezers are commonly used in various industries and applications, including electronics, watchmaking, jewelry, microscopy, and medical procedures. The distinguishing features of high precision tweezers include their fine tips, and anti-magnetic or anti-static properties. Choose a thick pointed tip or a flat rounded tip. Fine pointed tips allow for precision handling of small or delicate objects. The flat rounded tips provide a broader and gentler surface for grasping delicate objects and give you an even pressure distribution. For electronics work, the anti-magnetic steel prevents the tweezers from interfering with the magnetic components or causing damage to sensitive equipment. Both of these tweezers are quality Swiss-made instruments. These surgical instruments are autoclavable.
