Shaped, Butyl Rubber with Durometer of 50 Shore A, (hardness) and 3.0mm thick. Partially laminated with PTFE only on the light grey side of the Septa that faces the sample area. Butyl Rubber facing the glass vial provides a very good seal, due to its elasticity. Combining inertness of PTFE and elasticity of Butyl Rubber. This type of Septa is commonly known as Pharma-Fix™ and is temperature resistant from -40⁰ to 120⁰C.

Special Shape Septa with thick rubber outer ring (3mm) and thinned rubber center (1.5mm) provides a good seal with most 20mm crimp top Headspace vials. The target area on this Septa is easer for SPME needles to penetrate, minimizing broken or damaged needles. Recommended with CTC Pal and other autosamplers with SPME or Solid Phase Micro-Extraction injectors. Bimetallic Caps have a magnetic center and an aluminum outer ring that makes crimping them easier than all steel caps.

Natural Silicone Rubber is made without adding color and has the same properties as White Silicone Rubber and is a less expensive bonded Septa and Cap.

Orange-Red Silicone Rubber is more economical White Silicone Rubber and softer than Natural Red Rubber which is better for your autosamplers, minimizing damaging needles and injections systems.

Pre-slit for easy penetration by autosampler needles. This Septa is slightly thinner than most Septa to enhance the ease or needle penetration. 40mil equals 1.016mm.

Soft polyethylene caps are more pliable than other Snap Caps and are easier to place on the vial. Popular choice when using a large number of caps at one time. These caps may not seal as well as other Snap Caps and should be used with sample solvents with low volatility. Butyl Rubber with Tefzel is a lower cost Septa but inert enough for most applications.

Natural Rubber does not contain siloxanes like Silicone Rubber. TFE is similar to PTFE when comparing inertness.
