Respiratory Air Sources
Respiratory Air Sources
Air compressors, ambient air pumps, breathing air carts, air purification panels, or air cylinders for cascade systems designed to supply Grade D breathing air.
Breathing air is supplied by different air sources depending on application and environment. While the result of providing Grade D breathable air is the same according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, the method by which it is provided, tested, and monitored can vary greatly.
Supplied-air respirators (SARs) operate in one of two modes: Continuous flow (CF) or pressure demand (PD). Continuous flow provides the user with a steady flow of air, while pressure demand provides air based on the user’s breathing.
CF units provide air through a hose attached to an outside supply because they are typically used in spaces that are extremely hazardous. Common CF units are air compressors and ambient air pumps. All CF sources require air supply from uncontaminated compressed-air sources conforming to at least Grade D of ANSI Standard Z86.1.
Common PD air sources are cylinders that can be set up in remote sites that might otherwise be impossible to reach with a large stationary compressor. Other PD air source options include a cylinder cascade system consisting of several air cylinders stored in portable storage racks and designed to provide breathing air for up to four respirators.
Air purification panels, manifolds, and filters monitor air quality before it moves to an airline. Portable filtration panels have a hard-sided case to enable ease of mobility.
Breathing air carts are versatile and practical units that use compressed air cylinders (SCBA) mounted onto a cart to provide mobility. Breathing air carts are typically used for long-durations, in toxic environments (e.g., asbestos removal), and in confined spaces (e.g., tank cleaning).

3M™ Portable Compressed Air Filter and Regulator Panel Accessory, Filter Kit
Used with the 3M™ Portable Compressed Air Filter and Regulator Panel 256-02-00.
Bullard™ Remote Air Manifold (RAM) Series, Four Worker System

Remote air manifolds are effective for air distribution and regulation to four workers from a common source. RAM units enhance respirator-wearing worker mobility by giving the flexibility to work more than 300 feet from the air source.
Scott Safety™ Mobile Air Carts
Supply breathing air for several hours by rotating cylinders for up to four users at a time at NFPA flowrates
Scott Safety™ TRC-1 Air Carts
Supplies breathing air for up to eight respirator users at a time.
Bullard™ Free-Air Replacement Parts for Electric Driven Pump EDP50

Replacement parts for EDP50 air pump.
3M™ Filter Cartridge W-2811-10
Filter assembly reduces the amount of particles that may be present in the compressed air system, including water and oil mist.
3M™ Filter Replacement Kit
Used with 3M™ Portable Compressed Air Filter and Regulator Panel 256-02-01.
3M™ CO2 Monitor Accessory, Adapter

3M™ Coalescing Filter Assembly Accessory, High Efficiency Filter Element
Replacement filter for W-3012/37008(AAD).
3M™ Coalescing Filters
Used where the concentration of liquid aerosols in compressed air are greater than what can be filtered by the 3M™ Compressed Air Filter and Regulating Panel W-2806 alone.
Scott Safety™ Manifold Kits for Life-Link Emergency Breathing Support Systems
Manifold kits provide fast, easy coupling during rescue operation so that two users of similarly equipped Air-pak™ system can share a common air supply.
MSA™ Airline Respirator Manifolds
Compressed airline manifolds help ensure proper air supply from a single air source.
MSA™ Constant Flow Airline Accessory, Cartridge Holder Assembly
Cartridge holder assembly for use with MSA constant flow airline systems.
