D-α-Hydroxyglutaric acid disodium is the disodium salt of the D-enantiomer of 2-hydroxyglutaric acid used as a biochemical research reagent. It acts as a weak competitive antagonist of α-ketoglutarate, inhibits multiple α-KG-dependent dioxygenases (Ki ≈ 10.87 mM), increases reactive oxygen species production, binds and inhibits ATP synthase, and modulates mTOR signaling. Supplied in both microgram/milligram quantities and as a ready-to-use aqueous solution for laboratory experiments.
- Useful in studies of α-KG-dependent dioxygenase activity.
- Modulates mitochondrial function by inhibiting ATP synthase.
- Induces reactive oxygen species for oxidative stress assays.
- Available as small mass packs and as a 10 mM solution for convenience.
- Molecular weight 192.08 g/mol for accurate dosing and calculations.
