Diuron-d6 is a deuterium-labeled version of Diuron, an orally active phenylurea herbicide. It functions by inhibiting photosynthesis in plants, specifically by blocking the formation of ATP and NADH. The compound also increases the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and has been shown to increase p53 expression in certain cell lines. Diuron-d6 exhibits herbicidal activity against various annual and perennial broadleaf and grass weeds. Additionally, it is noted to promote DMBA/BBN-induced bladder cancer and can be utilized in breast cancer research.
