Pyridoxal phosphate, also known as Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate, is the active form of vitamin B6 and an endogenous metabolite. It acts as an inhibitor of reverse transcriptases and is used for the treatment of tardive dyskinesia. Its biological activity includes inhibition of DNA Polymerase, RNase H, and NEIL2, as well as the proliferation of SK-OV-3 and OVCAR-3 cancer cells. In vivo, it alleviates memory impairment in mouse models and inhibits the formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) in rat diabetes models.
