Bisindolylmaleimide I hydrochloride is a cell-permeable and reversible protein kinase C (PKC) inhibitor with IC50 values of 20 nM, 17 nM, 16 nM, and 20 nM for PKCα, PKCβI, PKCβII, and PKCγ, respectively. It also acts as a glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) inhibitor, making it suitable for a wide range of research applications.
