Freezer Storage Racks
Freezer storage racks help you make efficient use of space in chest and upright freezers, deep freezers, undercounter and ultra-low temperature freezers. To help you organize and optimize your storage, freezer storage racks, towers and shelf kits can be modular or color-coded for easy identification. Freezer baskets can be made from stainless steel, non-corrosive aluminum, clear acrylic or polycarbonate.
Freezer door opening time is typically limited to help maintain freezer temperatures, and racks can help users quickly access specific samples. Racks also allow users to temporarily remove a section of samples from the freezer without exposing the remainder to unwanted temperature changes.
Freezer racks may have horizontal access (for upright freezers) or vertical openings (for chest freezers). Some are wire baskets or sliding drawers and some have wheels to facilitate movement. Freezer storage racks may also have locks for security. For liquid nitrogen storage, racks may be “canes” or “straws” that hold multiple tubes in an upright position.
For optimal storage, choose racks designed to fit your particular freezer model or product. Racks are also made to fit specific sizes of freezer boxes. Most freezer boxes are roughly 5 inches square, but heights range from 2 to 5 inches depending on the size of tubes they hold.
