These plates prevent the formation of a meniscus, allowing for even distribution of culture medium, and resulting in a more uniform distribution of colonies throughout the entire 35 mm well. The absence of the meniscus also reduces optical distortion so that colonies located at the edge can be more easily counted.SmartDish™ (Catalog #27370) is the second generation of the original SmartDish™ plate (Catalog #27301). These new plates use an improved coating, which streamlines the manufacturing process, while consistently improving the visibility of hematopoietic colonies in culture through the elimination of the meniscus.
