Liquid mediums used to mount samples to slides for use in microscopy. Products are available in a variety of compositions and may be permanent, semi-permanent, or nonpermanent; includes antifade mountants for use with fluorescently-labelled samples.
Anti-fade fluorescence mounting medium (previously called fluoroshield mounting medium) is an aqueous mounting medium designed to preserve fluorescence when imaging tissues and cell samples. - Cited in over 30 publications - Contains 84% water - Fluorescence remains stable at 4°C in the dark - Prevents rapid photobleaching of key fluorophores

Citifluor mounting medium for immunofluorescence is designed to reduce the fading of the fluorescence of dyes used for labeling biological specimens. In the technique of fluorescence microscopy, the fluorescence is stimulated by high intensity UV and/or visible light. Absorption of the light populates an excited state of the dye (usually a singlet state) and this leads to fluorescence. However, the excited state of the dye may undergo chemical reaction, which leads to destruction as evidenced by the fading of the fluorescence and consequent loss of the image. A glycerol-PBS solution contains an amine antifadent. Material: Glycerol Based Type: Non Hardening
