VECTASHIELD®HardSet™ Mounting Medium prevents rapid photobleaching of fluorescent proteins and dyes. After approximately 15 minutes at room temperature, the coverslip will become immobilized, and optimal antifade ability and refractive index of 1.46 will be achieved. Mounted slides should be stored at 4 degrees C, protected from light. An attractive alternative to VECTASHIELD HardSet Mounting Medium is VECTASHIELD®Vibrance™ (NC1551231), which has improved antifade and handling characteristics. VECTASHIELD HardSet Mounting Medium is compatible with a wide array of fluorochromes, enzymatic substrates, and fluorescent proteins. The refractive index is 1.45.

VECTASHIELD Antifade Mounting Medium prevents rapid photobleaching of fluorescent proteins and dyes. It does not solidify, but remains a semi-liquid on the slide and can be stored without sealing. If desired, coverslips can be sealed around the perimeter with nail polish or a plastic sealant. Mounted slides should be stored at 4 degrees C, protected from light. VECTASHIELD Mounting Medium is compatible with a wide array of fluorochromes, enzymatic substrates, and fluorescent proteins, including many of the fluorophores used in super resolution methods like STORM, STED, and 3D-SIMM imaging, extending their lifetime and enhancing their photo-switching characteristics. (Olivier, N. et al., 2013, Biomedical Optics Express, Vol. 4 No. 6, pp. 885-899). The refractive index is 1.45. Ships at Ambient Temperature and Once received the storage temperature is 2-8 °C.
