The ZymoBIOMICS DNA Kits are designed for purifying DNA from a variety of sample inputs that is immediately ready for microbiome or metagenome analyses. The ZymoBIOMICS lysis system eliminates bias associated with unequal lysis efficiencies of different organisms (e.g. Gram-negative/positive bacteria, fungus, protozoans, and algae) making it ideal for microbial community profiling. Uniform mechanical lysis of all microbes is achieved by bead beating with the innovative ultra-high density BashingBeads. This kit is equipped with our OneStep PCR Inhibitor removal technology, enabling PCR amplification from DNA derived from inhibitor-rich environmental samples. New England Biolabs, Inc. Thermolabile Proteinase K – 30 units
Thermolabile Proteinase K (TLPK) is an engineered, subtilisin-related serine protease that will hydrolyze a broad variety of peptide bonds. It preferentially cleaves the peptide bond at the carboxyl side of aliphatic or aromatic amino acid residues. TLPK can be completely inactivated by incubation at 55°C for 10 minutes, which allows for subsequent enzymatic steps in the same reaction vessel.

The YeaStar Genomic DNA Kit™ is designed for reliable and efficient isolation of genomic DNA from a broad spectrum of fungus species, including Aspergills fumigatus, Aspergills nidulans, Aspergills nivens var.aureus, Candida albicans, Pichia pastoris, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Schizosaccharomyces pombe, and any fungi whose cell walls are susceptible to yeast lytic enzyme lysis. The kit is based on highly efficient enzyme lysis and fast spin column technology. Each standard prep yields about 7-20 g of DNA with a size distribution of 35-60 kb. The resulting genomic DNA can be used directly for all molecular biology analysis such as Southern Blot, PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, etc.

Effective DNA and RNA precipitation with the use of monovalent salts and ethanol or isopropanol is dependent on its concentration. DNA and specifically RNA precipitation at a concentration of less than 50 ng/mL is usually not quantitative and the pellet is not clearly visible leading to unreliable recovery. Addition of linear acrylamide as a carrier/coprecipitant aids in quantitative recovery and specifically clear visibility pf the pellet. Linear acrylamide does not interfere with spectrophotometric readings, electrophoresis, and most molecular biology enzymatic applications including PCR. Linear acrylamide is prepared synthetically and is guaranteed free of all nucleic acids, DNase, RNase and proteases.
