Human nicotinate phosphoribosyltransferase NAPRTase is localized in the cytoplasm and is involved in biological processes such as NAD biosynthetic and metabolic processes, nicotinamide metabolic process, nicotinate nucleotide salvage, response to oxidative stress and water-soluble vitamin metabolic process. It functions by catalyzing the conversion of nicotinic acid NA to NA mononucleotide NaMN and is essential for NA to increase cellular NAD levels and prevent oxidative stress of the cells. It is a crucial factor in the NAD biosynthesis pathway. Catalytic activity Beta-nicotinate D-ribonucleotide diphosphate = nicotinate 5-phospho-alpha-D-ribose 1-diphosphate.

It is one of the most virulent foodborne pathogens. Listeria species are known to secrete a 60kDa protein collectively termed p60, which is encoded by the "iap" invasion-associated-protein gene and secreted in large quantities into the growth media. p60 is a highly immunogenic murein hydrolase that is essential for cell division.

Interleukin-33 IL-33 HF-NEV IL-1F11, a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines, is expressed by many cell types following pro-inflammatory stimulation and is thought to be released on cell lysis. The 30kDa human IL33 is converted by CASP1 to a 18kDa protein. IL33 binds to and signals through ST2 IL1R1 and its stimulation recruits MYD88, IRAK, IRAK4, and TRAF6, followed by phosphorylation of ERK1 MAPK3/ERK2 MAPK1, p38 MAPK14, and JNK. The ability of IL-33 to target numerous immune cell types, like Th2-like cells, mast cells, and B1 cells, and to induce cytokine and chemokine production underlines its potential in influencing the outcome of a wide range of diseases, such as arthritis.

The Serum Triglyceride Quantification Kit is a simple, colorimetric assay that quantitatively measures the amount of triglyceride in plasma, serum, and lysates in a 96-well microtiter plate format. The kit measures triglyceride concentration in serum, plasma, and lysates by a coupled enzymatic reaction system. First, lipase hydrolyzes the triglyceride ester bond, yielding glycerol. The glycerol is then phosphorylated and oxidized, producing hydrogen peroxide which reacts with the kit’s Colorimetric Probe (absorbance maxima of 570 nm). Each kit provides sufficient reagents to perform up to 100 assays, including blanks, triglyceride standards, free glycerol controls and unknown samples. The kit contains a triglyceride standard and has a detection sensitivity limit of ~10 µM (1 mg/dL).
