Luciferin is a common bioluminescent reporter used for in vivo imaging of the expression of luciferase. This water soluble substrate for the firefly luciferase enzyme utilizes ATP and Mg2+ as cofactors to emit a characteristic yellow-green emission in the presence of oxygen, which shifts to red light in vivo at 37°C. Through the utilization of ATP, the reaction can be further used to indicate the presence of energy or life in order to function as a life-death stain.

ImmPACT NovaRED™ Peroxidase (HRP) Substrate produces an intense red reaction product, with 2-4X the sensitivity of standard VECTOR NovaRED substrate. Sections stained with NovaRED can be dehydrated, cleared, and permanently mounted. This chromogen is useful as an alternative to DAB or as a second color for multiple antigen labeling. ImmPACT NovaRED Substrate also provides excellent color contrast in pigmented tissue such as melanoma and can be used for both manual and automated staining methods. ImmPACT NovaRED™ substrate produces a red reaction product for use in immunohistochemical applications. This product generates 120 ml of working solution that is stable for up to 14 days when stored at 4 degrees C.

X-Gluc is a chromogenic substrate for beta-glucuronidase (GUS) which is encoded by the gusA (uid A) gene, a widely used reporter gene. Glucuronidase cleaves X-Gluc to produce colorless glucuronic acid and an intense blue precipitate. X-Gluc is often used in GUS staining of plant cells and tissue and in infections caused by E. coli.

Vector Laboratories ImmPACT AEC Peroxidase (HRP) Substrate Kit produces red reaction products for use in IHC and blot-based protein detection protocols. The novel ImmPACT technology generates a crisper, brighter red reaction product that is 3-5 times more sensitive than conventional AEC substrates. ImmPACT AEC can be used for both manual and automated staining methods. Stained slides must be aqueously mounted, e.g. in VectaMount AQ and are stable for up to four years at 4 degrees C. This product consists of diluent and concentrated chromogen stock solutions in convenient dropper bottles and can be used on nylon or PVDF membranes. Total working volume is 120 ml. It is not recommended for use on nitrocellulose membranes.

ACE substrate. Fluorogenic substrate for angiotensin converting enzyme-2 (ACE2), a zinc-dependent carboxypeptidase with 42% amino acid sequence identity to ACE1. Unlike Mca-YVADAPK(Dnp), this substrate is not cleaved by caspases. Mca fluorescence is quenched by the Dnp group until cleavage (at Pro-Lys) separates them.
