Closed system tissue grinders are design to provide maximum safety. Tissues are ground inside of a sealed container thereby reducing risk of sample contact or exposure to aerosols. Narrow pestle eliminates the possibility of sample overflow. Pestle styles include a standard molded abrasive surface or vitrified tip for more aggressive tissue grinding. Tissue grinders are fully assembled with pestle and sample tube. Supplied in easy to open sterile packs.

BioMasher II provides a convenient and efficient method for homogenizing small samples directly in a micro-tube. Unique closed system consists of a specially designed 1.5ml clear polypropylene micro-tube with a polyacetal pestle. The pestle has a molded-in shaft guard for added protection from hazardous substances and helps prevent sample loss. Both tube and pestle feature abrasive surface areas that ensure maximum grinding efficiency. This disposable system is ideal for homogenizing animal tissue, plant tissue and various other biological samples.
Active Motif Dounce Homogenizer
Whether you are analyzing cell lysates by Western blot, or preparing chromatin for a chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) experiment, the ability to obtain reliable results depends on accurate cell lysis. Active Motif's dounce homogenizer is ideal for preparation of cell lysates or chromatin, particularly if the cell and tissue samples seem to be resistant to lysis under normal detergent conditions. The dounce is available in two sizes for both small and large sample preparations. Each dounce is supplied with two pestles of different widths. One pestle fits tightly within the shaft of the dounce for maximum friction and cell disruption, while the other pestle has a looser fit and is ideal for generating a homogenous sample. Since the dounce homogenizer is made of glass it can easily be cleaned and sterilized between uses.
