Cortisone acetate, also known as Cortisone 21-acetate, is an oxidized metabolite of Cortisol, which is a Glucocorticoid. It functions as an immunosuppressant and anti-inflammatory agent. At high concentrations, cortisone acetate can partially interfere with the binding of Glucocorticoid to the Glucocorticoid-receptor.
