Meat sampler for microbiological sampling of carcass surfaces. Slaughterhouses and butcher shops must regularly test carcasses of cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, and horses to monitor slaughter hygiene.
The sampler works like a cork drill, removing a 5 cm² circular tissue sample in the punch (excision) process.
After cutting, the sample is removed with a scalpel and tweezers.
These drills are also used in histology, medicine, food, luxury goods, cheese production, and agriculture.
The sharp stainless steel edge easily cuts samples. A hole in the crown prevents air compression and helps eject samples.
Samplers are easy to sterilize by flaming or steam.
