The Oasis sorbent selection cartridge kit is specifically designed for rapid development of SPE methods for LC/MS analysis. The kit contains 40 cartridges — 10 each of the appropriate Oasis mixed-mode, ion-exchange chemistry: MAX (strong anion exchanger), WAX (weak anion exchanger), MCX (strong cation exchanger), and WCX (weak cation exchanger). Sample preparation method development can be quickly and easily achieved with the use of only two SPE protocols using these chemistries.

The 3 cc flangeless Oasis HLB cartridges contain the Oasis HLB sorbent, which is a universal polymeric reversed-phase sorbent that was developed for the extraction of a wide range of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds from various matrices using a simple, generic protocol. Since the Oasis HLB sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The 60 µm particle size is recommended when working with viscous samples. The flangeless configuration allows the cartridges to be closely packed for processing in specialized automated SPE systems.

Sep-Pak Alumina N Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a neutral surface chemistry. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. Sep-Pak Amino Propyl (NH2) Plus Light cartridges contain a moderately polar, silica-based bonded phase with weakly basic surface. The sorbent can be used as a polar sorbent with different selectivity for acidic/basic analytes or as a weak anion exchanges in aqueous medium below pH 8. Applications include extraction of phenols and phenolic pigments, petroleum fractionation, saccharides and drugs and metabolites. These cartridges have a distinctive finned outer body and a reduced internal diameter, which results in an interstitial volume about one-third that of the corresponding Plus-style cartridge.
