LB Agar, Miller, also referred to as Luria-Bertani Agar, is a widely used medium in molecular biology applications for maintaining and propagating E. coli. LB Agar, Miller contains twice the amount of sodium chloride as that of the Lennox formulation which allows for the researcher to be selective of the salt content when working with a specific strain. MOLTOX offers a wide variety of LB Agar, Miller plates with the addition of several different types and concentrations of antibiotics to provide a more selective medium for recombinant cells with a specific antibiotic resistance. Used as an industry standard for maintaining and cultivating recombinant strains of E. coli and for the preparation of plasmid DNA, MOLTOX offers a large selection of LB Agars and Broths with plenty of added antibiotics to choose from for a more selective media. Some media are temperature sensitive and may have specific temperature and storage requirements for shipping/delivery.

Czapek Yeast Extract Agar (CYA) is a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation, cultivation, and morphological identification of fungi, particularly Aspergillus and Penicillium species. Potato Dextrose Agar is a non-selective and non-differential medium recommended for the cultivation and enumeration of fungi. Potato infusion supplies nutrients necessary to enhance sporulation and pigmentation production. The low pH is favorable for fungal growth, but inhibits bacterial growth that may be present in the background flora. This product is suitable for the detection of heat resistant molds in thermally processed fruits and fruit products. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar with Chloramphenicol-100 a selective and non-differential medium used for the isolation and cultivation of yeasts and molds from clinical and non-clinical specimens. The acidic pH and high dextrose content favor fungal growth, while chloramphenicol suppresses bacterial contaminants. Commonly used for cultivating dermatophytes, Candida, and other pathogenic and saprophytic fungi. Bismuth Sulfite Glucose Glycine Yeast (BiGGY) Agar, also known as Nickerson Medium, is a selective and non-differential medium used for the detection, isolation, and presumptive identification of Candida species. Many strains of yeast, including Candida, reduce bismuth sulfite. During this process, significant amounts of sulfide are produced and combine with the bismuth to precipitate or impart a brown-black color to the colonies on the medium. Bismuth sulfite also serves to suppress bacterial growth.• Product pH will decrease. For propagation and maintenance of E.Coli:
Heat and stir until capsule is completely dissolved.
Buffer is set for 7.2 at 20°C using a 10mM solution of TRIS/TRIS HCl
Sterilize by autoclaving for 15 minutes.
