Picrocrocin is an apocarotenoid found in Saffron. It exhibits anticancer effects and growth inhibitory effects against SKMEL-2 human malignant melanoma cells. Its antiproliferative activity is attributed to apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, along with enhancing ROS levels, decreasing MMP levels, and inhibiting the JAK/STAT5 signaling pathway.
