The Thermo Scientific™ VitroEase™ Cryo-EM Training Kit provides a complete solution that includes detailed instructions for the successful preparation of grids for cryo-electron microscopy single particle analysis.
Successfully used in conjunction with our other micromanipulators, the SU-M33A is available separately for those in need of a small, practical instrument in applications not requiring submicron accuracy.
The SU-M33A is the right choice for tight environments which require maximum versatility within a small space. The vertical lock is ideal for locking the position of the vertical axis and increasing stability. The optional rotating base and tiltable X-axis provide even further flexibility.
The flagship in our line of precision micromanipulators, the motorized SU-MP285 is affordable yet offers advanced features found in manipulators costing thousands more. Custom engineered stepping motors, precision cross-roller bearing slides and proprietary worm gear capstan drives form the basis of the watch-like mechanical system. The controller provides power to the stage motors with a quiet linear power supply to minimize electrical noise radiation in your setup. Pipette holders and headstages are securely mounted to the SU-MP285 with one of our several unique and rigid mounting systems.
Both sides of the tape have a thick conductive adhesive (conductive inner film is 35µm and the adhesive is 45µm on each side for a total of 125µm [5 mils]) with a white liner. The double adhesive and conductive design permits quick mounting of samples without using liquid or colloidal adhesives. The tape is relatively solid and non-porous and does not absorb small samples. The variety of widths affords efficient application to various specimen mount surface sizes. Thickness is 0.16mm. Available in six widths. Can be used down to -20°C (-4°F) and temperature maximum is 60°C (140°F). Available in 5, 8, 12, 20, 25, and 50mm W x 20m L (0.19, 0.31, 0.47, 0.79, 0.98, and 1.96" x 21.8 yd). Core diameter is 76mm (3"). SEM mounts not included.

Carbon Tabs with Al Foil Backing, 12 mm, 20 tabs per sheet, package of 100; TED PELLA INC mfg# 16091-12
Pure carbon support films with no Formvar backing. This new product has an even thinner carbon film which is mounted on a Lacey carbon film. The carbon support layer lying over the holes is less than 3nm in thickness and is the thinnest support film available. It is particularly useful for high resolution microscopy of low contrast particles and is also ideal for use with the Energy Filtering TEM.
A formvar film stabilized with a thin film of Silicone monoxide. Silicone monoxide produces a desirable support film because it offers low background contrast and it is stable under the electron beam and it is more hydrophilic than carbon film. All of our coated grids are optically checked followed by batch testing in the EM. Packed in grid storage box. NOTE: All of our film is laid on the shiny side of the grid.
Grid: Nickel
Used for the storage of TEM grids for routine grid handling, transport and long term TEM grid storage. For standard grids that are 3.05 mm in diameter. Anti Static treated
Gold Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap, Floral, 1 Gal
Double grids are used mostly in metallurgical applications for supporting thin metal foils. These grids have a curved securing tab which folds to the curvature of the 'sandwiched' grid. 3.05 mm diameter, 0.7 mil (18um) thickness.
Material: Nickel
Pitch: 500/500 µm
Hole: 430/430 µm
Bar: 70/70 µm
Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) and cerium hexaboride (CeB6) cathodes are ideal for many small spot size applications such as SEM, TEM, surface analysis and metrology, and for high current applications such as microwave tubes, lithography, electron-beam welders, X-ray sources and free electron lasers. Greater brightness from low work function yielding higher currents at lower temps than tungsten.
